Shotcreting of Steel Ladles for NLMK, PJSC

Shotcreting is an installation technology that combines the use of high—density refractory casting material with low or ultra-low cement content and pneumatic spraying technology. This technology combines the advantages of monolithic refractory lining with brick lining.

“Refracon Installations”, LLC, specialists have been carrying out work on shotcreting steel ladles of NLMK’s Oxygen Converter shops for six years. During this period, our company has achieved excellent results. Currently we are shotcreting not only ladles with a standard brick lining, but also the ones with an innovative monolithic lining, and steel ladle lining durability has been increased to 138 smelts in Coke Department -1 and up to 120 smelts in Coke Department -2.

In cooperation with Seven Refractories company, the manufacturer of materials, we managed to perfect the technology of shotcreting of steel ladles. This was made possible thanks to the professional approach to work, a qualified team of specialists and modern high-performance equipment.
