Blast furnace No.5 & 1 repair for Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant

In May 2020, Refracon carried out shotcrete work to repair damaged areas of the refractory masonry in the combustion chamber of blast furnace No.1 и No.5 PAO Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant. The aim was to significantly extend the service life of the combustion chamber of air heaters under conditions of maximum performance of the gas burner. Within the framework of the contract, Refracon carried out the following project steps: dismantling of the refractory masonry, cleaning and surface preparation of the refractory masonry of repaired sections of air heaters, installation of anchors, mechanized gunning on damaged or missing sections of brickwork. The total amount of concrete applied exceeded 170 tons. In cooperation with Seven Refractories Refracon has been serving PAO Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant since 2019.
