Repair of the Air Heater of Blast Furnace No. 10 at Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works.

In the second half of December 2020, Refracon Installations LLC performed the restoration of the damaged refractory layer of the combustion chamber for the air heater No. 34 of blast furnace No. 10 at PJSC MMK. The chosen repair method of gunning has significantly increased lifetime of the air heater even at maximum performance levels of the gas burner.

During this project, Refracon has disassembled the old refractory layer, cleaned and prepared the surface, installed the anchors and restored damaged and missing brick areas using gunning technique.

Over 20 tons of cement refractory materials were successfully installed during this project. Since 2015, Refracon Installations LLC has been regularly cooperating with Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works and carrying out projects of high complexity, using advanced technologies and modern equipment.
