Testing New Technology for Pouring Ladles Refractory Lining for “Severstal”, PJSC

In cooperation with “Seven Refractories”, LLC, a new technology for applying materials using a robotic installation has been developed and applied.

The test objective was to obtain a positive technical and economic effect from changing the basic operating model of the steel casting ladle. The model offers an opportunity, through the use of shotcrete and torkret technologies with non-molded refractory materials, to reduce the consumption of refractories used for coating the pouring ladle working layer.

The tests proved successful. Stability of KS380 steel ladle working layer lining was achieved at the level of 120 melts, with one replacement of the slag belt brick lining. We hope for further fruitful cooperation with “Severstal”, PJSC.
